Evandale Farm is a place where folks feel welcome, enjoy spending time, contribute, learn about sustainable agriculture and permaculture, and share in a vision of sustainability. We have many guests coming and going throughout the year for internships, work opportunities, workshops, visits and events. We are creating partnerships with other local farmers and community organizations with the goal of establishing a strong local economy and tight-knit community.
When it comes to food production we aim to model natural ecosystems. We focus on growing animals and plants suited to our landscape, and are working to develop closed-loop energy systems. We source locally whenever possible, use only organic feeds, generate and reuse on-farm resources, and aim to produce zero waste. We rely heavily on the principles of permaculture, integrating human and agricultural systems with natural ecosystems. We also collaborate with other producers in the area to create synergies our efforts to remain economically viable at a small scale.
